Job Vacancy: Finance Officer (1 Post)

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
    • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
  • Experience & Knowledge:
    • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a finance-related role
    • Experience working in the service industry
    • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting
    • Proven track record in managing audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory filings
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and monitor budgetary compliance
  • Prepare and file tax returns (Monthly VAT, withholding taxes) and ensure timely payments
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business initiatives and ensure alignment with accounting practices
  • Process and manage staff imprest claims, refunds, and retirements in a timely manner
  • Review daily sales reports (Z Reports) and EFD-issued receipts for all transactions
  • Manage petty cash requisitions, replenishments, and ensure timely reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and review other reconciliations as needed
  • Post all transactions daily in the accounting system for real-time financial tracking
  • Prepare, develop, and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
  • Provide financial insights and dashboards linking operational KPIs to financial performance
  • Act as custodian of all security documents related to financial transactions
  • Process payment requisitions accurately and promptly capture approved payments in the system
  • Continuously review and improve finance processes, leveraging automation where possible
  • Assist with all tax-related issues and ensure compliance with TRA, BRELA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor in a timely manner
