Job Vacancy: Finance Officer (1 Post)
Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
- Experience & Knowledge:
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a finance-related role
- Experience working in the service industry
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting
- Proven track record in managing audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory filings
- Skills:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and monitor budgetary compliance
- Prepare and file tax returns (Monthly VAT, withholding taxes) and ensure timely payments
- Collaborate with other departments to support business initiatives and ensure alignment with accounting practices
- Process and manage staff imprest claims, refunds, and retirements in a timely manner
- Review daily sales reports (Z Reports) and EFD-issued receipts for all transactions
- Manage petty cash requisitions, replenishments, and ensure timely reconciliations
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and review other reconciliations as needed
- Post all transactions daily in the accounting system for real-time financial tracking
- Prepare, develop, and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
- Provide financial insights and dashboards linking operational KPIs to financial performance
- Act as custodian of all security documents related to financial transactions
- Process payment requisitions accurately and promptly capture approved payments in the system
- Continuously review and improve finance processes, leveraging automation where possible
- Assist with all tax-related issues and ensure compliance with TRA, BRELA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor in a timely manner
